Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant P&L management experience
  • 5-7 years of overall restaurant experience in relevant types of establishments
  • Ability to work varied and rotating schedules including early mornings, peak times, and late evenings
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn management information systems
  • Ability to understand and apply health and safety regulations
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years documented restaurant P&L management experience
  • Overall 5-7 years of restaurant experience in QSR or casual dining environments
  • Graduation from a Food Service Management or Culinary program is preferred and may substitute for experience
  • Demonstrated team management, delegation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, services, and operational standards or ability to learn quickly
  • Strong communication skills including reading and comprehending instructions and policy documents
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Experience with financial analysis and operational reporting
  • Ability to implement marketing and employee engagement initiatives

Job Duties

  • Ensures all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing the restaurant to prepare for opening
  • Holds shift managers accountable for executing opening and closing checklists and requirements
  • Deploys staff and resources to maximize profitability and accepts P&L responsibility
  • Assigns work tasks and prepares schedules to ensure all shifts are covered
  • Provides consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to restaurant staff
  • Conducts interviews and makes hiring, termination, and promotion decisions
  • Ensures compliance with diversity and inclusion policies
  • On-boards and off-boards associates in compliance with badging and training processes
  • Reads and analyzes financial and operational reports to monitor progress
  • Recognizes employee contributions through company recognition initiatives
  • Teaches associates proper order procedures and maintains product availability
  • Oversees receiving goods and invoice processing
  • Maintains and schedules repairs for restaurant equipment
  • Participates in company audits
  • Conducts and coordinates training and development of staff
  • Embraces and promotes new technological tools and brand standards
  • Implements marketing programs to drive revenue
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Trains managers and staff on wellness and COVID-19 protocols
  • Works varied and rotating schedules including opening, busy, and closing shifts
  • Uses judgment to resolve customer and associate issues
  • Develops plans to motivate and engage team
  • Monitors staff performance and progress against goals
