Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of restaurant P&L management experience
  • 5-7 years of overall restaurant experience in similar roles
  • ability to work varied and rotating schedules including openings, busy dayparts, and closings
  • ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • compliance with health and safety regulations
  • demonstrated leadership in managing complex restaurant operations
  • ability to use management information systems

  • capability to handle high-stress situations and resolve issues promptly

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from a food service management or culinary program may substitute for experience
  • demonstrated team management and delegation skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities
  • knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, and operational standards or ability to acquire knowledge quickly
  • strong communication skills including reading, writing, and verbal interaction
  • demonstrated experience in P&L management for similar restaurant types
  • proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster inclusion
  • proficiency in management information systems
  • ability to train and develop staff
  • problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of opening and closing checklists
  • deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability
  • prepare schedules and ensure shift coverage
  • provide consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to staff
  • conduct interviews and make hiring, termination, and promotion decisions
  • enforce diversity and inclusion philosophy
  • manage onboarding and offboarding processes
  • analyze financial and operational reports and assign tasks to meet objectives
  • recognize staff contributions and support company recognition initiatives
  • adopt and champion employee engagement behaviors
  • ensure accurate contact information for associates
  • prepare orders and maintain product inventory
  • oversee goods receiving and invoice processing
  • maintain proficiency in management information systems
  • monitor and maintain restaurant equipment
  • manage responses to audits
  • minimize waste and participate in food donation programs
  • conduct and coordinate on-the-job training
  • inspire adoption of new technologies
  • maintain knowledge of brand standards and policies
  • develop strategies to increase revenue
  • manage day-to-day activities of associates
