Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, environmental science, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in waste management, environmental services, transportation, or logistics
- Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations
- Demonstrated success with financial management including P&L ownership
- In-depth knowledge of fleet maintenance, routing, safety regulations, and compliance standards
- Experience in a decentralized organizational structure preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in waste management, environmental services, transportation, or logistics
- Proven success leading large, frontline and management teams
- Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L responsibility
- Deep understanding of fleet maintenance, routing, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Experience operating within a large, decentralized organization preferred
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead change and drive accountability
Job Duties
- Full P&L ownership, driving revenue growth, margin improvement, and cost discipline
- Lead and develop management teams across operations, maintenance, sales, and admin
- Champion GFL's Safety First culture, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and internal standards
- Optimize fleet and operations including routing efficiency, labor productivity, asset utilization, and uptime
- Partner with sales leadership to grow market share, retain key customers, and support municipal contracts
- Drive operational excellence using KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as the local face of GFL, building relationships with municipalities, regulators, customers, and community partners
- Build a strong leadership pipeline, coaching managers and preparing future leaders within GFL
