Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years of P&L restaurant management experience
  • Five to seven years of overall restaurant industry experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work varied and rotating schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
  • Capability to manage staff and resolve conflicts
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Proficient in using management software and operational systems
  • Ability to maintain physical stamina for standing and moving during shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Documented management experience in QSR or similar restaurants
  • Three years of restaurant P&L management experience
  • Five to seven years of overall restaurant experience
  • Team management and delegation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn HMSHost policies, products, and standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Graduation from a food service management or culinary program may substitute part of experience requirement
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to train and develop staff
  • Familiarity with management information systems and operational tools

Job Duties

  • Ensure all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing the restaurant and prepare for opening
  • Understand, adopt, and demonstrate defined manager behaviors that foster employee engagement
  • Deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability and accept P&L responsibility
  • Assign work tasks, prepare schedules, and ensure all shifts are covered
  • Provide staff with consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to achieve business goals
  • Interview job candidates and make hiring, termination, advancement, and promotion decisions
  • Promote diversity and inclusion and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding including compliance with badging and training processes
  • Monitor financial and operational reports and assign staff to meet unit goals
  • Recognize staff contributions and develop motivation plans
  • Champion employee engagement behaviors
  • Maintain current contact information for all associates
  • Ensure product availability and proper inventory management
  • Oversee receiving goods, invoice processing, and vendor contact
  • Maintain proficiency in management systems like MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
  • Schedule equipment maintenance and manage repairs
  • Participate in audits and minimize waste through programs including food donation
  • Assess employee skills and coordinate training
  • Embrace and promote new technologies
  • Uphold brand standards and landlord agreements
  • Develop creative strategies to boost revenue
  • Manage daily activities and resolve customer and employee issues
  • Implement marketing programs in compliance with brand initiatives
  • Maintain safety and health standards and ensure manager accountability
  • Train managers and associates in wellness check protocols and COVID-19 requirements
  • Adhere to all health and safety activities as outlined in the Manager's Guide
  • Work varied and rotating schedules to supervise different shifts and day parts
