Job Requirements

  • Ability to manage quick-service restaurants or similar types
  • Minimum three years of P&L responsibility for restaurants
  • Five to seven years overall restaurant experience
  • Graduation from relevant management or culinary program preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand company policies and menus
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Willingness to work varied and rotating shifts including opening and closing
  • Must operate under administrative and executive exemptions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Qualifications

  • Documented and demonstrated skills managing similar restaurant types (QSR, casual dining, full service)
  • Minimum of three years of restaurant P&L management experience
  • Overall 5-7 years of relevant restaurant experience
  • Graduation from food service management or culinary program may substitute for experience
  • Effective team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
  • Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, services, quality, equipment, and operational standards
  • Strong communication skills including reading, writing, and conversation

Job Duties

  • Ensure all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing and opening the restaurant
  • Hold shift managers accountable for executing closing and opening checklists
  • Deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability
  • Assign work tasks and prepare schedules covering all shifts
  • Provide coaching and support to restaurant staff
  • Interview, hire, terminate, promote, and manage restaurant associates
  • Promote diversity and inclusion philosophies within the restaurant
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding and ensure compliance with badging and training requirements
  • Monitor financial and operational reports to meet unit goals
  • Recognize staff contributions and implement recognition initiatives
  • Train and champion employee engagement behaviors
  • Ensure accurate contact information for all associates
  • Ensure daily orders are prepared and stocked appropriately
  • Manage receiving, invoice processing, and vendor contact for supply chain issues
  • Maintain proficiency in management systems like MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
  • Schedule routine equipment service and repairs
  • Manage audit responses
  • Minimize waste and participate in food donation programs
  • Assess associate skill levels and coordinate training
  • Inspire adoption of new technology
  • Maintain working knowledge of brand standards and tenant agreements
  • Develop strategies to increase revenue
  • Manage day-to-day activities of restaurant associates
  • Resolve customer and staff issues and escalate when necessary
  • Implement marketing programs and comply with promotional activities
  • Maintain an understanding of all sanitary, safety, and health standards
  • Hold managers accountable for safety compliance
  • Train on wellness check protocols and COVID-19 requirements
  • Perform health and safety activities as outlined in company guidelines
