Job Requirements

  • Documented and demonstrated skills managing QSR or similar restaurant operations including P&L responsibility
  • minimum of five years of overall restaurant experience including at least three years as a general manager
  • graduation from a food service management or culinary program is preferred but not required
  • strong team management and delegation capabilities
  • ability to understand and apply HMSHost policies and brand standards
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • flexibility to work varied and rotating schedules including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • commitment to uphold all health, sanitation, and safety standards
  • willingness to learn and adapt quickly to company systems and technologies

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of restaurant general manager experience with proven P&L responsibility
  • five to seven years of overall restaurant industry experience
  • experience managing QSR or similar types of restaurants
  • ability to demonstrate team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
  • knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, service standards, and operational procedures or willingness to learn quickly
  • strong communication skills to read, understand, and interact with employees and customers
  • graduation from a food service management or culinary program is beneficial and may substitute for experience
  • demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Open and close the restaurant ensuring all opening and closing checklists are completed
  • deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability and assign work schedules
  • provide ongoing support, coaching, and encouragement to restaurant staff
  • interview, hire, promote, and terminate associates as necessary
  • ensure compliance with diversity, inclusion, and onboarding/offboarding processes
  • manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to maintain product availability
  • maintain and schedule service for restaurant equipment and participate in audits
  • assess skill levels of associates and coordinate training initiatives
  • implement brand standards and marketing programs
  • handle customer and associate issues using discretion and escalate complex problems
  • ensure safety and health protocols are followed and train new managers and associates on wellness checks
  • maintain and monitor financial and operational data to meet business goals
  • recognize employee contributions and promote engagement
  • work varied shifts including openings, busy periods, and closings to oversee restaurant operations
