Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant P&L management experience
  • Overall 5-7 years working experience in restaurant environment
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand instructions and policy documents
  • Demonstrated skills in managing QSR or similar restaurant types
  • Availability to work varied and rotating schedule including opening and closing shifts
  • Capability to use management tools and technology
  • Commitment to upholding health, safety, and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing QSR or similar restaurants with P&L responsibility
  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant P&L management and 5-7 years of overall restaurant experience
  • Graduation from Food Service Management or Culinary program may substitute for experience
  • Strong team management, delegation, and issue resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Knowledge of HMSHost policies, products, service standards, and operations
  • Effective communication skills including speaking, reading, and comprehension
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with employee engagement focus
  • Proficiency with restaurant management information systems
  • Familiarity with brand standards, labor relations, and compliance requirements

Job Duties

  • Ensure all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing the restaurant to prepare for opening
  • Hold shift managers accountable for executing all closing and opening checklist requirements
  • Deploy staff and resources to maximize profitability and accept P&L responsibility
  • Assign work tasks, prepare schedules, and ensure coverage of all shifts
  • Provide consistent support, coaching, and encouragement to restaurant staff
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, termination, advancement, and promotion decisions
  • Promote HMSHost as an employer of choice within the local community
  • Execute all onboarding and offboarding activities for associates
  • Read and understand financial and operational reports to monitor progress towards goals
  • Recognize staff contributions through company recognition programs
  • Train and champion employee engagement behaviors
  • Ensure daily orders and inventory levels meet operational needs
  • Oversee receiving goods, processing invoices, and vendor communication
  • Maintain proficiency in management systems such as MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
  • Monitor and maintain restaurant equipment and schedule repairs
  • Manage responses to NSF audits and other inspections
  • Minimize waste and participate in food donation programs
  • Assess skill levels and coordinate training activities
  • Embrace and promote new technologies in the workplace
  • Maintain knowledge of brand standards, lease agreements, and labor relations
  • Develop and implement creative revenue-enhancing strategies
  • Manage day-to-day activities of associates at assigned locations
  • Resolve customer and associate questions with discretion and judgment
  • Provide ongoing feedback based on individual and business goals
  • Implement company marketing programs and promotional activities
  • Maintain understanding and compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety standards
  • Hold managers accountable for safety standards
  • Train staff in wellness checks and COVID-19 protocols
  • Perform health and safety activities as outlined in management guides
  • Work varied shifts including opening, peak, and closing hours
  • Report to Director of Operations or relevant area leader
  • Maintain current contact info and ensure operational readiness
