Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum ten years of hospitality management experience
- Knowledge of hotel property management systems
- Experience in guest service standards
- Ability to manage large diverse teams
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Analytical and financial interpretation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent or proficient in Spanish (preferred)
- Open availability including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Compliance with California labor and municipal codes.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Hospitality management degree preferred
- Minimum ten years of experience in hospitality management
- Technical knowledge of hotel property management and financial systems
- Working knowledge of full-service guest service standards
- Prior experience with four or five diamond properties preferred
- Experience managing vendor and government relations
- Ability to supervise a large, diverse workforce of approximately 322 employees
- Proven ability to motivate, coach and develop employees
- Strong analytical skills including interpreting financial and technical information
- Competent in responding to regulatory and customer inquiries
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing speeches and presentations
- Spanish language skills preferred
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal abilities
- Open availability including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Familiarity with California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and local San Diego municipal regulations.
Job Duties
- Coordinate, direct, and manage day-to-day hotel operations directly or by delegation to subordinate supervisors
- Motivate associates to exceed guest expectations and uphold a positive work environment
- Support and communicate company goals and act as an ambassador of the company
- Direct all hotel departments including Rooms, Housekeeping, Laundry, Security, Engineering, Groundskeeping, and Food and Beverage
- Develop and implement guest service standards consistent with company core service values
- Address and resolve customer service issues promptly and professionally
- Support and motivate Sales, Catering, and Revenue teams at the property level
- Collaborate with revenue management to implement rate changes to maximize room revenue
- Monitor occupancy, rates and forecasts
- Recommend pricing strategies
- Participate in marketing strategy development to increase market share
- Design and implement guest resort activities seasonally to enhance guest engagement
- Manage property financial operations including budgeting, expenditure monitoring, and justifications
- Coordinate annual revenue and occupancy forecasts
- Ensure compliance with accounting and financial policies
- Hire, develop, and manage a diverse team of over 300 employees
- Ensure safe working environment for guests and employees
- Promote a positive and collaborative work culture
- Execute training and development programs
- Maintain compliance with company policies and legal requirements
- Fulfill additional duties as directed by leadership.
