The General Manager role at Kimpton is pivotal in maintaining the hotel’s reputation for excellence while also driving financial success. Job Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of upper-level management experience in hospitality
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both internally and externally
  • Ability to lead, manage, and encourage teams by example
  • High level of creativity, enthusiasm, and flexibility
  • Ability to convert vision into actionable strategies that benefit the property

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, monitor and participate in comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that maximize occupancy and average rates
  • Work directly with ownership to strategize and implement growth projects
  • Coordinate and assist with guest satisfaction and resolutions
  • Maintain cross-department relationships including restaurant and spa to promote property success
  • Protect and enhance hotel assets through maintenance, security, housekeeping, and capital budgeting
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and controls
  • Coordinate weekly forecasting, staffing, and expense planning
  • Review and approve operating expenses
  • Engage in networking, local industry events, and community relations
  • Supervise, develop, and evaluate all operating departments including reservations, front office, guest services, housekeeping, security, maintenance, sales and marketing, accounting, and people and culture
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, training, and employee performance management including appraisals, rewards, discipline, and problem resolution
