Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior manager in a restaurant setting
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Financial literacy and ability to analyze budgets and profitability
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness safety and sanitation
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure
  • Problem solving skills with a hands on approach
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to interact positively with customers and team members
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Basic proficiency in kitchen operations
  • Comfortable using computer software for scheduling and reporting

Job Duties

  • Oversee all daily restaurant operations including staffing catering and service
  • Delegate tasks enforce company checklists and ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain the lowest possible prime cost labor plus materials
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures and company policies are followed
  • Complete the ops agenda and restaurant tour consistently during all shifts
  • Source screen interview hire and onboard all new team members
  • Create schedules that ensure appropriate staffing across all shifts
  • Train and develop BOH staff for food consistency and FOH staff for outstanding customer service
  • Foster a strong respectful culture and a welcoming work environment
  • Create career paths for team members to grow within the company
  • Serve as the face of The Tomato Shack frequently greeting and engaging with guests
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is always the highest priority
  • Follow up with guests who had less than ideal experiences
  • Analyze feedback and implement improvements
  • Submit thorough substantiated bi weekly scorecards tasks that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position
  • Review daily cash outs for accuracy and verify all paperwork
  • Research vendor pricing and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Maintain and improve all company checklists and documentation
  • Represent The Tomato Shack at community business group meetings and events
  • Act as the point person for all promotional and community events
  • Suggest and lead in store promotions and monthly specials
  • Step in during staffing shortages or emergencies kitchen front of house or catering
  • Be proficient in kitchen operations and capable of jumping in when needed
  • Monitor health and safety compliance as the last line of defense for the location
  • Create sample and test new menu items aid in menu development with cost based pricing recommendations
  • Seek regular feedback from all staff to drive engagement
  • Continuously suggest ideas to improve efficiency and SOPs
