Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of direct general manager experience
  • experience with national hotel brands
  • strong financial management skills

  • valid driver’s license

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years direct General Manager experience for national brand Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt highly preferred

  • requires minimal oversight to achieve company goals and objectives

  • socially engaged, passionate about the hotel business and serving guests
  • convincing and representative attitude
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficient in MS Office software and hotel technology platforms such as Opera and Micros
  • understands inventory management, contract management and contract negotiations
  • understands franchisee policies and requirements
  • space for further career development
  • food and beverage experience preferred
  • degree in Hospitality Management preferred
  • demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced business environment

Job Duties

  • Implement the operating and financial plan for the hotel using best practices and SOP policies and procedures
  • achieve or exceed targeted top line revenue and GOP
  • commit to 100 percent guest satisfaction
  • retain and maximize existing revenue opportunities and identify new revenue channels with sales team
  • provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to Corporate Accounting
  • manage various department heads
  • recruit qualified applicants and train employees in accordance with company standards
  • resolve employee related issues consistent with company policies
  • commit to continuous operational improvement
  • inspect and document repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair
  • organize multiple projects, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • communicate and work successfully with senior operations management
  • embody Summit Hospitality Group culture
  • maximize revenues and flow through to GOP to meet or exceed budgeted EBITDA
  • prepare property operating budgets and business segment forecasts
  • prepare yearly capital expenditure budget
  • manage labor standards and property-level expenses
  • explain and manage financial activities including reconciliations and monitoring collections
  • participate and monitor monthly inventory of supplies and equipment
  • ensure purchases are within budget and by approved vendors
  • work directly with sales team to meet revenue objectives
  • make sales calls
  • identify and seek potential local business
  • maintain relationships with local companies and key leaders
  • promote 100 percent guest satisfaction throughout the property
  • ensure guest-related issues are resolved
  • motivate and direct employees acting as Chief Morale Officer
  • communicate policies and conduct regular staff meetings
  • adhere to employment laws and regulations
  • manage employee personnel forms and documentation
  • ensure security procedures and policies are maintained
