Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or public administration
five years of related managerial or comparable administrative experience preferably in a public transit agency
drug test and pre-employment physical
subject to random alcohol and drug testing
clear understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement and experience working with unions, labor negotiations, contracts, and grievance procedures

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or public administration
five years of related managerial or comparable administrative experience preferably in public transit
advanced master's degree in a job-related curriculum may substitute for one year of experience
strong leadership skills
knowledge of safety and compliance requirements including EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC
experience in financial management and budgeting
excellent interpersonal and communication skills
ability to develop and mentor teams
strategic thinking and business acumen
experience working with unions and labor relations

Job Duties

provides oversight and coordination of staff for cost effective, efficient, and reliable transit services
provides input and feedback to the board on policies and external factors impacting goals
works with team members to promote a strong safety culture
oversees agency safety plan implementation and client reporting
ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
manages financial, operational and employee performance and development
directs managers in financial, people, human resources, and service programs
builds strong leadership team and develops managers
creates strategic vision for growth covering finance, people, and operations
monitors business trends and addresses risks
fulfills client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements
develops relationships with community leaders, officials, and public
communicates clearly and transparently with an open-door policy
