Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or public administration
- five years of related managerial or comparable administrative experience preferably in a public transit agency
- drug test and pre-employment physical
- subject to random alcohol and drug testing
- clear understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreement and experience working with unions, labor negotiations, contracts, and grievance procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or public administration
- five years of related managerial or comparable administrative experience preferably in public transit
- advanced master's degree in a job-related curriculum may substitute for one year of experience
- strong leadership skills
- knowledge of safety and compliance requirements including EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC
- experience in financial management and budgeting
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to develop and mentor teams
- strategic thinking and business acumen
- experience working with unions and labor relations
Job Duties

- partners with Safety, Risk and Continuous Improvement to implement process improvements to ensure compliance and drive excellence
- executes client service planning and recommends real-time scheduling adjustments based on service demands and disruptions
- develops and monitors annual operating and capital budgets ensuring financial targets are met
- maintains effective working relations with teams, union, public, agencies, officials, and board of trustees
- provides oversight and coordination of staff for cost effective, efficient, and reliable transit services
- provides input and feedback to the board on policies and external factors impacting goals
- works with team members to promote a strong safety culture
- oversees agency safety plan implementation and client reporting
- ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- manages financial, operational and employee performance and development
- directs managers in financial, people, human resources, and service programs
- builds strong leadership team and develops managers
- creates strategic vision for growth covering finance, people, and operations
- monitors business trends and addresses risks
- fulfills client, corporate, and contractual reporting requirements
- develops relationships with community leaders, officials, and public
- communicates clearly and transparently with an open-door policy
