Job Requirements

  • at least 7 years of experience in hotel management

Job Duties

  • creating and maintaining guest-driven operations with a vision that inspires hotel staff to do their best
  • working with the management company to increase total revenue and achieve profitability objectives in all departments
  • working cooperatively with the National Park Service to ensure operations comply with lease obligations
  • assuring that hotel services and operations exemplify core values and comply with regulations
  • overseeing the quality process to ensure guest satisfaction by consistent delivery of product quality and service
  • hiring and managing skilled staff passionate about hospitality
  • demonstrating deep knowledge of all hotel operations and key facts
  • managing assigned functions and resources respectfully and fiscally responsibly
  • assuring team members have proper tools and training to perform their jobs effectively and safely
  • working with service contractors to assure quality service in the best interest of the hotel and community
  • regular reporting to the supervisor on significant operational matters
  • collaborating with management company and department heads to create and implement budgets and meet financial targets
  • developing both short- and long-term capital plans
  • cultivating positive community relations and serving as the hotel's goodwill ambassador
  • resolving guest and employee issues in consultation with management
  • maintaining a high profile in all hotel areas and engaging with guests and staff
  • coaching employees and providing constructive feedback
  • monitoring industry trends and encouraging staff recommendations
  • participating in learning opportunities and applying new processes
  • leading a safety-conscious team with effective emergency procedures
  • communicating regularly with staff and maintaining open-door policy
  • preserving and nurturing the historic property and parkland environmentally responsibly
  • working with other Passport GMs and marketing to promote the property
  • performing other duties as assigned
