Job Requirements

  • Work a flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be available to close the store at least once per week
  • Attend corporate meetings and conferences including overnight and interstate travel
  • Maintain valid identification for airline travel
  • Frequent use of computer and telephonic devices
  • Continuous mobility and physical activity including bending, pushing, reaching, twisting, lifting up to 25 lbs, and walking throughout the store during shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant experience
  • Proven financial management skills including driving sales, interpreting data, managing payroll, and controlling expenses
  • Demonstrated retail management experience with inventory monitoring, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising
  • Leadership experience attracting, developing, and motivating talent
  • Ability to adapt to change and lead teams through transitions
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in ambiguous situations and be adaptable

Job Duties

  • Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty for the GM’s store
  • Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
  • Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support store scheduling needs to maximize productivity, achieve sales and payroll goals, and complete workload on time and within budget
  • Address issues identified by financial and operational reporting, store visits, and audits to achieve store goals and profitability
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests to enhance sales and service experience
  • Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
  • Maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold associates accountable to attendance policies
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent and address staffing needs
  • Address policy violations with corrective actions in partnership with management
  • Build a highly engaged team embodying the brand through collaboration, communication, and work prioritization
  • Create an inclusive environment fostering growth and engagement of associates
  • Lead manager and associate development including training, feedback, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and development plans
  • Participate in ongoing training to drive professional development and sales performance
  • Model open communication and align store goals with enterprise strategies
  • Promote teamwork by working alongside management and establishing clear priorities
  • Execute the Guest Engagement Leader program to drive results across all performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and dress code
  • Use scheduling and task management tools to optimize staffing and workload execution
  • Protect company assets by ensuring safety, inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention
  • Execute day-to-day inventory control including theft reporting and product returns
  • Support continuous improvement through adoption of initiatives and technology
  • Utilize company programs and resources to drive store improvements
  • Communicate regularly with field leadership on business trends, operational challenges, and competitive landscape
