Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of professional management experience
  • Full-time availability
  • Exempt employment status
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic planning
  • Experience in safety culture promotion
  • Skills in financial and operational management
  • Ability to build and lead management teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to undergo drug test and pre-employment physical
  • Understanding of union contracts and grievance procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, A levels, GED, or GCSE
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in general management or as managing director
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, or public administration preferred
  • Experience in public transit agency management or comparable administrative experience
  • Strong leadership skills with focus on safety, team building, and performance management
  • Proven ability in budgeting, strategic planning, and operational oversight
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and labor relations
  • Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Experience with compliance to EPA, OSHA, DOT, ADA, and EEOC regulations

Job Duties

  • Promote a diverse and inclusive, positive, respectful, and healthy work environment
  • Prioritize employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Offer professional, personal and technical development including continuous learning and mentoring
  • Partner with Safety, Risk and Continuous Improvement to implement process improvements
  • Execute client service planning and recommend scheduling adjustments
  • Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets and monitor financial targets
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, union, public, medical and governmental agencies
  • Provide oversight and coordination of staff to deliver efficient and reliable transit services
  • Provide input to the board on policies and external factors impacting goals
  • Ensure compliance with safety plans and regulatory laws
  • Build and coach a strong leadership team
  • Develop and maintain community and stakeholder relationships
  • Satisfy client, corporate and contractual reporting requirements
  • Manage overall financial and operational performance of the location
  • Maintain a safe and engaging safety culture
