Job Requirements
- Full-time employment
- Experience managing Marriott brand hotels preferred
- Strong operational background with proven F&B leadership
- Proven ability to manage high-volume day and nightlife pool operations including activations and promoter relationships
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed NOI margins
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct financial reviews and budgeting processes
- Skilled in sales efforts including client interactions and event hosting
- Competency in training and developing managers
- Capability to handle multiple priorities and problem-solve effectively
- High standards of personal presentation
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to participate in corporate training and become certified trainer
Job Qualifications
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
- Or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
- Light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and guests
- Effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
- Comply with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data to meet objectives
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings, including weekly training sessions presented by managers and self
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
- Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers, M.I.D's and available supervisors
- Ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard checkbook accounting procedures
- Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs
- In conjunction with the Director of Sales, conduct a daily HHBR meeting focusing on prospecting and existing account calls
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings, hosting luncheons and receptions
- Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Maintain direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance
- Oversee and assist in the budget process as required
- Ensure training in service standards is taking place using the company’s effective training steps
- Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guests through employee development
- Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering managers
- Ensure complete daily processing of invoices using the A/P process
- Ensure compliance with monthly accounting calendar for financial documents
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of property through inspections and preventive maintenance
- Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient at all times
- Forecast monthly financial position by estimating revenues and expenses
- Conduct management interviews and ensure compliance with hiring standards
- Interview all prospective final candidates for management positions
- Perform executive committee performance appraisals and ensure compliance
- Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel following company S.O.P.s
- Perform other duties as requested by the Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
- Meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
- Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests
- Ensure procedures for hotel safe handling and security are followed including monthly audits
- Ensure monthly credit meetings and active role in credit and collection policies
- Complete required corporate training modules and become certified to train
- Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
