Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree
- at least five years of experience in a senior managerial role
- experience in public transit or related sector preferred
- strong knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance
- experience with financial management and budgeting
- ability to lead diverse teams and foster inclusive work environments
- clear communication and interpersonal skills
- understanding of union contracts and labor relations
- willingness to undergo drug testing and pre-employment physical
- subject to random alcohol and drug testing
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation, public administration or related field
- minimum five years of managerial or comparable administrative experience preferably in a public transit agency
- strong leadership and team-building skills
- experience in financial management and budgeting
- knowledge of safety compliance and regulatory requirements
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- ability to develop and implement operational strategies
- experience working with unions, labor negotiations, and collective bargaining agreements
- strategic business and entrepreneurial skills
- strong interpersonal and community engagement capabilities
Job Duties
- Promote a diverse and inclusive, positive, respectful, and healthy work environment
- prioritize employee engagement and retention strategies
- offer professional, personal and technical development including continuous learning and mentoring opportunities
- partner with Safety, Risk and Continuous Improvement to implement process improvements and ensure compliance
- execute client’s service planning and recommend real-time scheduling adjustments
- develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets and monitor financial targets
- develop and maintain effective working relationships with teams, the union, public, medical and governmental agencies, elected officials, and board of trustees
- oversee staff to provide cost-effective, efficient and reliable transit services
- provide input and feedback to the board on policy development and external factors impacting goals
- create and maintain a strong safety culture
- oversee agency safety plan and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- manage financial, operational and employee performance and development
- build and coach a strong leadership team
- create strategic vision for organizational growth including finance, human resources, and operations
- monitor business and community trends to identify growth opportunities and risks
- maintain strong relationships with community leaders and public stakeholders
- ensure clear, concise, and transparent communication throughout the organization
- manage union relations, labor negotiations, and grievance procedures
