Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or similar degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, and requirements of federal, state, and municipal authorities
  • presentation and facilitation skills (preferred)
  • excellent customer service skills
  • previous experience in hospitality industry (preferred)
  • hotel management operations experience (preferred)
  • knowledge of government relations regarding hotel operations (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the hotel establishment
  • supervise direct reports and indirect reports
  • perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, training programs, and applicable laws
  • plan, organize, and assign work as needed
  • develop and communicate strategies and goals
  • train and advise team of policies and procedures
  • responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and performance appraisals
  • set performance expectations as aligned in the General Manager Standard Operating Procedures manual
  • ensure regular communication within all departments
  • create an operations environment that ensures consistent guest satisfaction
  • monitor hotel performance through guest satisfaction tools and financial reports
  • communicate clear messages regarding departmental goals
  • maintain product and service quality standards by conducting evaluations and resolving complaints
  • develop financial objectives aligned with company mission
  • prepare financial reports for executive leadership
  • analyze market sales and trends
  • coordinate activities to maintain and increase revenue and market share
  • implement brand initiatives and communicate actions to team members
  • identify key drivers of business success
  • reinforce and maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • assist with emergency and security procedures when needed
  • promote good safety practices
  • establish and monitor preventive maintenance programs
  • focus on building hotel top-line revenue through sales and marketing strategies
  • provide input and support for sales strategy
  • develop strong community and public relations by participating in local events
  • perform other tasks as necessary to meet or exceed guest satisfaction
