Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous front office supervisory and management experience
  • Minimum one year customer service experience
  • Experience with branded hotels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to walk and climb/descend stairs approximately 20% of the time
  • Ability to kneel, reach, crawl and twist torso frequently
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly
  • Strong interpersonal skills requiring patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Previous front office supervisory or management experience in a hotel setting
  • Experience in customer service for at least one year
  • Experience working in branded hotels
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
  • Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective presentation and communication skills with managers, clients and customers
  • Strong knowledge of safety and security policies for guests and hotel property
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to write reports, correspondences, memos and performance evaluations
  • Basic math skills including calculations of discounts, proportions and percentages
  • Problem-solving skills for practical and variable situations
  • Ability to interpret written, oral or diagram instructions
  • Must meet legal age requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Hires, trains and supervises hotel team with focus on front desk agents
  • conducts performance evaluations and coaches and counsels associates
  • Maintains all hotel standards set by brand and management company
  • Assists with scheduling, billing and accounts receivable responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, assigns and coordinates daily activities and special projects for staff to ensure guest service standards are met
  • Regularly monitors payroll budget to align labor costs with forecasts
  • Fields guest complaints and researches effective solutions
  • Listens and assists to resolve rate conflicts and facility issues
  • Inputs and retrieves data for file maintenance, correspondence and front office reports
  • Conducts regular front office staff meetings for training and positive work environment
  • Attends hotel staff meetings and coordinates with other department heads
  • Establishes and maintains front office policies and enforces safety regulations
  • Assigns duties and shifts, observes staff performance for policy adherence
  • Cooperates with other department heads to ensure coordination
  • Answers inquiries regarding hotel services and local information
  • Processes advance registration payments
  • Meets and personally greets VIP guests when possible
  • Reviews group resumes, event schedules and reports for proper staffing
  • Prepares and modifies weekly schedule according to business needs
  • Reviews and approves daily payroll reports
  • Submits and follows up on work orders for maintenance
  • Performs subordinate duties when necessary
