Job Requirements
- At least 6 years progressive experience in hotel or related field
- or 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience
- or 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
- Light work exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns of employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
- Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations
- Effectiveness in handling problems proactively
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information
- Maintain confidentiality
- Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions following Highgate Hotel standards
- Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers, M.I.D.'s and supervisors
- Ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
- Develop managers through competency training and corporate sponsored programs
- Conduct daily HHBR meetings with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
- Play a pivotal role in hotel sales, meeting clients, hosting events, and maintaining client relationships
- Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
- Monitor development of management trainees
- Adhere and train staff on Highgate Hotel policies, procedures and standards
- Oversee and assist in hotel budget process
- Ensure training in service standards in each department
- Foster a positive team environment focusing on guest satisfaction
- Inspect rooms regularly with Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer
- Ensure daily processing of invoices via A/P process
- Deliver monthly financial reports to Corporate Office as per accounting calendar
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of physical property
- Ensure employees provide attentive, friendly, and courteous service
- Forecast monthly financial position including revenues and expenses
- Conduct management interviews and ensure compliance with hiring standards
- Interview all final management candidates prior to offers
- Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals and enforce compliance
- Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management personnel as per SOP
- Perform additional duties requested by Vice President or Regional Director
- Ensure fair and equitable employee treatment
- Meet and support clients to aid sales efforts
- Be present in public areas during peak times to engage guests
- Ensure security and monthly audits of hotel safe
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit policies
- Complete required corporate training and certifications
- Ensure all scheduled meetings occur on property
