Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of retail management experience
- Proven success in financial management and top-line sales growth
- Proven ability to monitor inventory levels and execute merchandising directives
- Experience leading and developing diverse teams
- Ability to manage payroll budgets and control expenses
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be available to close store weekly
- Willingness to travel and attend corporate meetings
- Valid identification for airline travel
- Physical ability for frequent movement and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Ability to use technology such as POS systems and Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 3-5+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant experience
- Proven financial management skills including sales growth, budget management, and expense control
- Demonstrated retail management experience with inventory monitoring, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising
- Strong leadership skills including talent attraction, development, motivation, adaptability, collaboration, and team influence
- Proficient with Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing conditions
Job Duties
- Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
- Drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
- Leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs and maximize productivity
- Address issues from financial and operational reporting, store visits, and audits to achieve store goals
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
- Maintain attendance and hold store associates accountable to attendance policy
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team while addressing staffing needs
- Address policy violations and corrective actions fairly according to company policies
- Build an engaged team through collaboration, communication, and prioritization
- Create an inclusive environment that inspires growth and engagement
- Lead manager and associate development through training, feedback, and succession planning
- Participate in ongoing training for professional development
- Model open communication and share strategic goals with direct reports
- Promote teamwork by working alongside management and providing direction
- Execute Guest Engagement Leader program to drive business results
- Ensure compliance with company policies, dress code, and standards
- Use scheduling and task tools to optimize staffing and task completion
- Protect company assets via inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention
- Execute inventory control processes and theft reporting
- Support continuous improvement and adoption of company initiatives
- Provide feedback to field leadership on trends and operational challenges
