Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is a plus
- Passionate team player and strong motivator
- Strong background in driving performance excellence through people management
- Minimum five years full P&L management experience preferably in hospitality, service, or retail
- Experience in problem-solving, sound judgment, confidentiality, and professional interaction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database applications
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely with strict deadlines
- Excellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills
- Exceptional customer service experience and skills
- Veterinary, boarding, or grooming experience required
- Experience managing inventory and accounts payable
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds
- Ability to be on feet for entire shift
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently
- Ability to work on computer systems and multi-line telephone
- Ability to handle dogs on leashes
- Ability to work with exposure to disinfectant, chemicals, animal dander, and excretions
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Experience with full P&L responsibility in relevant industries
- Prior experience in veterinary, boarding, grooming or related pet care environment
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated problem-solving and sound judgment abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience managing inventory and accounts payable
- Ability to motivate and develop team members
- Knowledge of federal and local labor laws
- Commitment to safety and compliance
Job Duties
- Supports the mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet
- Ensures exceptional customer service through personal contact with customers, associate training, resolution of customer complaints, and delivery of services
- Collaborates with Destination Pet support staff including operations, human resources, marketing, facilities, and legal
- Ensures cohesiveness of pet care services and cross training
- Manages all staff including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, counseling, and termination
- Oversees staff scheduling to balance service and budget
- Manages payroll ensuring timely approval
- Ensures compliance with labor laws including OSHA, EEOC, ADA, and Fair Labor Practices
- Conducts safety training and enforces safety policies
- Delivers annual performance reviews
- Monitors pet guest needs ensuring safety and comfort
- Resolves customer and staff complaints
- Manages social media accounts with weekly postings and customer engagement
- Implements local marketing programs to acquire customers and grow sales
- Attends community events and partners with local businesses
- Maintains inventory and reorders supplies
- Manages all computer systems
- Addresses center maintenance for a safe environment
- Utilizes financial reports and statistics
- Responsible for cash management and bank deposits
- Promotes Destination Pet services in the community
- Assists other team members as needed
- Performs other assigned duties
