Job Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience
  • Management experience required
  • Minimum five years comprehensive experience in operations management
  • Minimum seven years management or supervisory experience in a transit environment with scheduling software knowledge
  • Labor and union negotiations and expenses expertise
  • Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety, DOT, and FTA compliance
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High multi-tasking skills
  • Additional duties based on individual contract requirements

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs
  • Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff
  • Communicate frequently with location staff and support team members
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability
  • Oversee safety and training programs to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain routine client contact to meet or exceed expectations
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits
  • Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Manage financial metrics continuously and develop action plans for exceptions
  • Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Interact with committees to effect positive changes to policies and programs
  • Participate in labor and employee relations activities
  • Provide insights to support contract renewals
  • Create and present the annual budget for the location
