Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business administration preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of hotel management experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Proficiency in computer programs including MS Office and hotel management software
  • Ability to interpret financial data and prepare budgets
  • Strong leadership and delegation abilities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and accept feedback
  • Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures
  • Familiarity with employment laws and company policies
  • Ability to manage staff and conduct performance evaluations
  • Commitment to maintaining guest satisfaction and operational excellence

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or Business Administration preferred
  • Certified Hospitality Administrator designation preferred but not required
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Vocational education, apprentice training, on-the-job training, and essential experience in hotel management
  • Ability to write routine reports, business letters, and correspondence in English
  • Computer skills including MS Office, Yield Management Systems, Property Management Systems, Central Reservation Systems, Payroll software, company-issued internet and email programs
  • Strong reasoning to interpret financial information, prepare budgets, read business records, and make informed decisions
  • Strong management skills including delegation and work assignment
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and accept constructive criticism
  • Flexibility to change activities frequently and cope with interruptions
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Perform the role of standard bearer communicating and maintaining Global Hotel Group's Basics standards
  • Execute criteria from General Manager’s Standard Operating Procedures satisfactorily
  • Ensure consistent guest satisfaction by creating an ideal operating environment
  • Have thorough knowledge of property, community, and room types
  • Monitor hotel performance via guest satisfaction and financial reports and initiate corrective actions
  • Maintain product and service quality by evaluating and investigating complaints
  • Execute marketing, sales, and operations producing results that meet or exceed business plans
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations affecting hotel operations
  • Manage interactions with general public, guests, employees, unions, and officials tactfully
  • Accept full responsibility for managing hotel activities
  • Take an active role in sales efforts and attend required brand training
  • Maintain community public affairs involvement
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and resolve outages timely
  • Maintain downtime procedures to prevent revenue loss during outages
  • Provide coverage for assistant general manager responsibilities when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
