Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven management experience in upscale restaurant settings
  • Strong guest service orientation
  • Ability to work 10-12 hour shifts on feet
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes
  • Proficient in basic computer applications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive experience leading a high-volume, upscale restaurant
  • Wine knowledge required, sommelier experience preferred
  • Servsafe Food and Alcohol certification preferred
  • Some culinary experience or training
  • Formal business or restaurant management education preferred
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff development skills
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment
  • Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively

Job Duties

  • Conduct facility walk through to ensure a clean, safe and guest-friendly atmosphere
  • Complete administrative office work including answering emails, entering sales reports, paying invoices and checking deliveries
  • Review previous day sales reports for accuracy and investigate discrepancies
  • Communicate effectively with management team, staff, and corporate personnel
  • Review reservations and events to ensure proper staffing
  • Perform kitchen and bar line checks to ensure food quality and inventory needs
  • Set and achieve budgeted sales and profit levels
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review menu changes and staff updates
  • Provide motivational leadership and communication to staff
  • Rotate through restaurant stations during service to monitor operations
  • Interact regularly with guests to ensure a superior dining experience
  • Complete closing duties including payroll and sales reports
  • Facilitate weekly manager meetings for staffing and training needs
  • Monitor inventory and ordering to ensure effective operations
  • Plan and execute local marketing and public relations activities
  • Recruit, hire and train restaurant personnel
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop individual goals
  • Coordinate banquet and special event planning
  • Attend training to improve professional skills
  • Build community relationships to promote brand awareness
  • Develop business through catering and private dining sales
