Job Requirements
- College degree or equivalent business management experience
- Minimum five years of comprehensive experience in operations management
- Seven years of management or supervisory experience in transit
- Knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software
- Labor/union negotiations expertise
- Understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety DOT and FTA compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask
Job Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent business management experience
- Management experience specifically in Fixed Route Management
- Experience with paratransit is a plus
- Minimum five years of comprehensive experience in operations management
- Seven years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment
- Knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software
- Expertise in labor/union negotiations and expenses
- Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Additional duties based on contract requirements
Job Duties
- Provide support, leadership and direction to assigned operating location to ensure delivery of annual business plans
- Control daily operation of transportation contract in compliance with policies and company procedures
- Supervise daily work activities of all operators, supervisors, dispatchers, maintenance and utility workers, and subcontractors
- Ensure safe, reliable and effective supply of all work
- Cooperate with the City and be accountable for all substantive matters pertaining to transit services
- Ensure all performance goals are met
- Manage operations design, scheduling and management
- Maintain an adequately staffed and competent organization
- Oversee fleet maintenance and availability
- Implement quality assurance across divisions
- Collect, compile, analyze and report data as required
- Ensure compliance with FTA and other regulatory requirements
- Manage environmental compliance and sustainability efforts
- Respond professionally to passenger and public comments and concerns
- Attend public meetings as requested
- Maintain positive employee morale
- Manage customer relations and outreach
- Select, train and mentor staff
- Communicate effectively with staff and support teams
- Conduct departmental audits
- Review operational metrics regularly
- Manage financial metrics and develop action plans
- Enforce company policies and procedures
- Participate in labor and employee relations
- Support contract renewals
- Create and present annual budget
