Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a general manager in an upscale resort environment
  • previous experience in a similar hotel environment
  • strong leadership capabilities
  • excellent communications skills
  • ability to build a positive associate culture
  • ability to motivate a team to deliver high-level customer service
  • over 10 years experience with profit and loss management
  • bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a General Manager in an upscale resort environment preferred
  • previous experience in a similar environment and type of hotel preferable
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to build a best in class associate culture
  • ability to motivate team to provide refined customer service at a Forbes 4-star level
  • 10+ years of profit and loss responsibilities
  • bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Identify key drivers of business success
  • assist in developing long-range and annual business, capital, and budget plans
  • create a cohesive leadership team and positive business environment that delivers results
  • inspire and motivate team to achieve operational excellence
  • take a hands-on approach by inspecting what is expected
  • collaborate with Country Club GM to build a collaborative culture across campus
  • oversee executive committee roles in sales, marketing, revenue management, rooms, human resources, engineering, security, finance, food and beverage
  • support the financial success of combined club and resort operations
  • review sales goals and strategies to ensure alignment with positioning and pricing
  • encourage effective revenue management practices
  • foster associate engagement to provide excellent service
  • identify leadership and foster career development
  • ensure capital expenditure funds are deployed effectively and within program
  • support Owners Club team in managing HOA needs and attend board meetings
  • develop deployment strategies to market property and grow market share
  • review STR report and competitive shopping reports to maintain market awareness
  • leverage sales and revenue engines to drive RevPAR improvement
  • set goals and expectations for direct reports
  • hold staff accountable for performance in a positive manner
  • utilize an open door policy
  • communicate clear and consistent messaging regarding property goals
  • conduct annual performance appraisals
  • hire executive committee team members demonstrating expertise and entrepreneurial leadership
  • manage monthly forecasts and annual budgets with corrective actions as needed
  • participate in daily operations meetings
  • engage in risk management and legal issues
  • ensure accurate revenue, expense and labor forecasts and execution
  • create development plans based on individual strengths and career aspirations
