Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a general manager in an upscale hotel environment preferred
  • previous experience in a similar type of hotel environment
  • previous experience managing labor relations or union environments required
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to motivate teams to provide best-in-class customer service
  • over 10 years of profit and loss management responsibilities
  • bachelor’s degree preferred

  • support the sales strategy by encouraging effective revenue management practices

  • ensure alignment of sales goals and strategies with positioning and pricing
  • leverage sales and revenue channels to drive RevPAR improvement year over year
  • manage capital expenditure funds within budget
  • build strong relationships with partnership groups and key customers
  • hold staff accountable for performance in a positive manner
  • utilize an open door policy to encourage communication
  • communicate clear and consistent property goals to achieve desired results
  • foster associate engagement to provide excellent service
  • conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports
  • hire executive committee team members demonstrating leadership and creativity
  • collaborate with Homeowners Associations and Global Sales Offices to support business objectives
  • provide strategic direction and support to ensure group sales success
  • participate in daily operations meetings to promote communication and guest satisfaction
  • manage risk, including legal and workers compensation issues
  • ensure accurate revenue, expense, and labor forecasts and execution
  • create development plans based on individual strengths and aspirations
  • participate in member relations to facilitate retention and acquisition
