Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6 years progressive hotel management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient in financial management and budget oversight
  • Ability to work full time with flexible schedule
  • Effective multitasking and organizational skills
  • Commitment to excellent guest service
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Or a 4-year college degree with 4 to 5 years related experience
  • Or a 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years related experience
  • Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns from employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Friendly and service-oriented approach in all interactions
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Participate in management on duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Adhere to company standards for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Strong problem solving skills including anticipating and preventing issues
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex data and information to meet objectives
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs promptly
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and proper accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency training and corporate programs
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales on daily HHBR meetings focusing on prospecting efforts and business results
  • Engage actively in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor the development of management trainees
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and train new managers accordingly
  • Oversee and assist in the budget process
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with service standards and training
  • Foster a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest and employee motivation
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and property with relevant managers
  • Manage invoice processing through accounts payable
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial documents to corporate
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of property through inspections and preventative programs
  • Promote attentive, friendly, and courteous interactions among staff
  • Forecast monthly financial positions with detailed analysis and reforecasting
  • Conduct management interviews and ensure adherence to hiring procedures
  • Interview prospective management candidates prior to job offers
  • Perform performance appraisals for executive committee members and ensure compliance by other managers
  • Motivate and discipline management personnel following company standards
  • Complete any additional duties as requested by higher management
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees
  • Engage with clients and potential clients touring the property
  • Be visible and available in public areas during peak times
  • Enforce hotel safe security and monthly safe audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and participate in credit and collection policies
  • Complete corporate training modules and become certified as a trainer if required
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
