Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a General Manager in an upscale resort environment
  • previous experience in a similar environment and type of hotel
  • strong leadership skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to build a best in class associate experience culture
  • ability to motivate team to provide refined customer service at Forbes 4-star level
  • 10+ years of P&L responsibilities
  • bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Identify key drivers of business success
  • assist in developing the resort's long-range and annual business, capital, and budget plans
  • create a cohesive leadership team and positive business environment that consistently delivers results
  • inspire and motivate team to achieve operational excellence
  • employ a hands-on approach that inspects what is expected
  • collaborate with Country Club GM to build a collaborative culture across campus
  • oversee Omni Barton Creek Resort executive committee roles including sales & marketing revenue management, rooms, human resources, engineering, security, finance, food & beverage to leverage campus amenities and resources
  • support the financial success of combined Club and Resort operations
  • review sales goals and strategies to ensure alignment with positioning and pricing
  • support sales strategy by encouraging effective revenue management practices
  • foster associate engagement to provide excellent service
  • identify leadership and foster career development
  • ensure capital expenditure funds are deployed effectively and within program
  • support Owners Club team in managing HOA needs and attend board meetings
  • develop deployment strategies to market property and grow market share
  • review STR report and competitive shopping reports to maintain market position awareness
  • ensure sales and revenue engines drive RevPAR improvement year over year
  • set goals and expectations for direct reports
  • hold staff accountable for performance in a positive manner
  • utilize an open door policy
  • communicate clear and consistent property goals
  • conduct annual performance appraisals
  • hire executive committee team members demonstrating strong expertise and entrepreneurial leadership
  • develop and manage monthly forecast and annual budget taking corrective actions as required
  • participate in daily operations meetings
  • participate directly in risk management including legal and workers compensation
  • ensure accurate revenue, expense and labor forecasts and execution
  • create development plans based on individual strengths and career aspirations
