Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 8 years of restaurant management experience
  • leadership of 30+ employees
  • proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Office
  • strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • ability to work lunch and dinner shifts including weekends and holidays
  • must pass background check
  • knowledge of restaurant operations
  • strong math and cash handling skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage stressful situations calmly

Job Qualifications

  • College degree is preferred
  • Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable
  • combination of practical experience and education will be considered
  • 5 to 8 years in a fine/casual dining atmosphere managing a restaurant with 3 to 10 million dollars in volume
  • experience leading a team of at least 30 employees including front and back of house
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office proficiency
  • previous management experience in kitchen and front-of-the-house operations
  • knowledge of service and food and beverage operations with at least three years in front and back of house
  • ability to operate a cash register or POS system
  • leadership skills that create a positive working environment and manage stress well
  • knowledge of office administration
  • knowledge of human resource management and supervision
  • excellent written communication skills
  • ability to maintain high accuracy in preparing and entering information
  • agreement to pass a background screening

Job Duties

  • Regularly measure and evaluate service levels and standards using guest and employee feedback and develop plans for continuous improvement
  • consistently provide a quality product and guest service experience that delivers total guest satisfaction
  • respond positively and quickly to guest concerns
  • correct potential problems before they affect guests
  • respond to complaints and take appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests
  • maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings
  • ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given attentive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
  • accomplish restaurant objectives by recruiting, selecting, onboarding, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining the entire staff
  • evaluate each employee's ability to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction consistently
  • continuously improve all employees' skills, knowledge, and morale by effectively utilizing training programs
  • develop beverage knowledge in all bar areas to all staff members
  • communicate job expectations, monitor job contributions, and review compensation actions
  • hold each employee accountable for their individual and team performance
  • identify and develop staff members for future leadership roles
  • prepare schedules and ensure the restaurant is staffed for all shifts while maintaining labor cost goals
  • meet restaurant financial objectives by developing and implementing strategies to increase average check totals
  • adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
  • ensure all financial and payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time
  • manage all restaurant inventories including food, liquor, beer, wine, furniture, supplies, and equipment
  • utilize labor effectively to meet budgets while maintaining quality, service, and cleanliness
  • monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions
  • maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by enforcing sanitation standards and complying with regulations
  • ensure all operations and equipment are clean and in excellent working condition
  • enforce and uphold food safety and sanitary requirements to ensure health and safety
  • supervise bar operations to maximize profitability and minimize legal liability
  • eliminate over-pouring by bar staff and monitor product usage
  • keep bar staff up to date with Responsible Vendor training and certification
  • keep management promptly informed of all issues and take corrective actions as necessary
  • comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations
  • communicate regularly with management through written reports
  • ensure that all employees understand their roles in reporting incidents
  • train staff and security personnel to manage unruly guests and minimize incidents
  • maintain premises free of hazards to minimize slips and falls
