Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in restaurant management or related hospitality field
- knowledge of food safety and alcohol service regulations
- ability to work long shifts of 10-12 hours
- physical ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 100 pounds
- strong interpersonal and guest service skills
- basic computer proficiency
- flexibility to adapt to changing demands
- excellent problem solving and decision making abilities
- ability to handle pressure and maintain professional appearance
- proactive attitude toward ongoing training and development
Job Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading a high-volume, upscale concept restaurant
- wine knowledge required with sommelier experience preferred
- Servsafe Food and Alcohol certification preferred
- some culinary experience or training is a plus
- formal business education or a restaurant management degree is a plus
- above average computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- ability to read and interpret financial data
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to build and motivate a team
- effective organizational and time management skills
Job Duties
- Conduct facility walk through to ensure a clean, safe and guest-friendly atmosphere and ambiance
- complete administrative office work including answering emails, entering sales reports, paying invoices and checking deliveries
- review previous day’s sales reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- proactively communicate operational discrepancies and information to management and corporate staff
- review reservations and events to ensure proper staffing
- perform kitchen and bar line checks for quality and quantity
- set, submit and achieve budgeted sales and profit levels
- conduct pre-shift meetings to review updates and address issues
- provide motivational leadership and communication to staff
- rotate through all stations during service to monitor and support staff
- interact regularly with guests to inquire about their experience and address complaints
- complete closing duties including entering financial data, cleaning and communication for the next shift
- facilitate weekly manager meetings to discuss staffing and training needs
- monitor inventory levels and ensure ordering from approved vendors
- plan and execute local store marketing and public relations
- recruit, hire, orient and train restaurant personnel
- perform performance reviews and create development plans
- coordinate banquet and special event planning with sales manager
- participate in training courses and seminars
- build community relationships to promote the brand
- develop business through catering and private dining sales
