Job Requirements
- Must have a dependable vehicle to deliver packages and make pickups
- Must have previous management experience
- Availability for evening pickups required
- Willingness to adapt to new situations
- Capable of using computers for routing and payroll purposes
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to effectively manage personnel and operations under pressure
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years of management experience preferred
- 2-3 years of logistics experience preferred
- Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to interact effectively with logistics teams and vendors
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking
- Self-directed and able to meet deadlines
- Comfortable and knowledgeable with technology and computers
Job Duties
- Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers
- Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching new drivers and staff
- Oversees routing, sorting, operations loading and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management
- Delivers and picks up packages daily
- Creates and updates driver notes in Ameriship’s system ensuring accuracy and validity of delivery information
- Drives consistent operational performance focused on service and cost
- Monitors misdeliveries and develops avoidance strategies
- Manages and organizes general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands
- Forecasts workload for 2-3 days out
- Leads and manages hourly personnel and contractors
- Manages resources to cover staff absences and workload capabilities
- Handles disciplinary issues in line with company policies
- Schedules and directs the work activity for drivers using cost-efficient options to maximize profitability
- Maintains high data accuracy in the system
- Creates and assigns work schedules to maintain proper staffing based on freight volumes
