Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4-6 years prior experience in a family, fast-food, or casual dining restaurant preferred
  • Prior leadership experience required
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning, organization, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use hands for handling tools and controls
  • Ability to bend, stoop, taste, smell, and verbally communicate effectively
  • Ability to see with close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Ability to access all restaurant areas including selling floor, stock, and register areas
  • Adherence to company safety and sanitation procedures
  • Compliance with OSHA and local health and safety codes

Job Duties

  • Manage daily restaurant operations according to company policies and applicable laws
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train employees
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Appraise performance and administer rewards or disciplinary actions including termination
  • Address employee complaints and resolve problems
  • Shape restaurant culture and ensure high employee engagement
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure success and guest satisfaction
  • Model professional behavior to create a warm, hospitable atmosphere
  • Communicate sales performance and anticipated variances to management team
  • Cascade corporate programs and initiatives to staff
  • Assist team members with job duties as needed
  • Champion sales-building activities and suggestive selling
  • Maximize table turnover, sales per guest, and sales per hour
  • Meet and greet guests, investigate and resolve food quality and service issues
  • Maintain efficient operations, appropriate cost controls, and profit management
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, health, safety codes, and company policies
  • Enforce safe work behaviors for guests and crew
  • Monitor daily activities for food quality and cleanliness
  • Control day-to-day operations including cash control, security procedures, inventory management, food and labor costs, financial reports, and schedules
  • Manage P&L including food, labor, carryout costs and other controllable items
  • Follow recipes and portion control to manage food costs
  • Oversee weekly inventory processes
  • Optimize weekly employee schedules using labor scheduling tools
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of restaurant equipment
  • Maintain facility and company assets
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
