Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
  • Light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests
  • Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in Manager on Duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including nametags
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Be effective in handling problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • Understand and evaluate complex information and data from various sources
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions and sales and operations reviews
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers, M.I.D.s, and supervisors
  • Ensure all department heads maintain productivity levels and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for advancement through competency and corporate training
  • Conduct daily HHBR meeting with Director of Sales focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including calling on top accounts, meeting clients, hosting events
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • Maintain direct contact with management trainees
  • Adhere to all hotel policies and train managers to ensure compliance
  • Oversee and assist in budget processes
  • Ensure service standards training and compliance in all departments
  • Create a positive, team-oriented environment through employee development
  • Inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices using A/P process
  • Ensure financial documents submission to corporate on schedule
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive programs
  • Ensure employees are attentive, courteous, and efficient
  • Forecast monthly financial position and analyze data
  • Conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Interview final candidates for management positions
  • Perform Executive Committee performance appraisals and ensure adherence to appraisal standards
  • Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline management personnel per SOPs
  • Perform duties assigned by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on property to assist sales effort
  • Be present in public areas during peak times to greet guests
  • Ensure secure handling and auditing of hotel safe
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and participate in credit policies
  • Complete corporate training modules and become certified trainer
  • Ensure scheduled meetings occur on property
