Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years related experience or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years related experience
  • physically able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
  • maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • effective verbal and written communication with all levels of employees and guests

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts
  • meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
  • hold a monthly financial review with all department managers M.I.D.'s and supervisors
  • ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard accounting procedures
  • develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training programs
  • conduct daily HHBR meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls and potential business results
  • participate in hotel sales efforts including calling on top accounts and meeting clients
  • participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled
  • maintain direct contact with and monitor development of management trainees
  • adhere to all company policies and train new managers to ensure compliance
  • oversee and assist in the budget process as required
  • ensure service standards training is taking place using company guidelines
  • assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment focusing on guest through employee development and motivation
  • inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping manager and property engineer
  • ensure complete processing of invoices daily using A/P process
  • ensure monthly financial document compliance with corporate office accounting calendar
  • ensure cleanliness and maintenance of physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs
  • ensure employees are attentive friendly courteous and efficient with guests and coworkers
  • forecast monthly financial position by estimating revenues and expenses and generate accurate reforecast
  • prepare and conduct management interviews and ensure hiring procedure compliance
  • interview all prospective final candidates for management positions prior to employment offers
  • perform performance appraisals and ensure management compliance with standards
  • motivate coach counsel and discipline management personnel according to company policy
  • perform other duties as requested by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
  • ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • meet clients on property and assist sales efforts
  • be present in public areas during peak times greeting guests and assisting
  • ensure hotel safe procedures and monthly audits
  • ensure monthly credit meetings and actively manage hotel credit and collection policies
  • complete required corporate training and certification
  • ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
