Job Requirements

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
  • Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests
  • Effective listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in management on duty coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance and comply with scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • Comply with company standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations
  • Ability to understand and evaluate complex information and data

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions reviewing previous and future sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs in a timely fashion
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain productivity levels and standard accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency and corporate training
  • Conduct daily sales meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Participate in sales efforts including client calls, hosting events and meetings
  • Provide management coverage as scheduled
  • Monitor development of management trainees
  • Adhere to company policies and train new managers for compliance
  • Assist in hotel budget process as required
  • Ensure training in service standards is conducted and compliance across all departments
  • Foster a positive team-oriented guest focused environment
  • Inspect rooms weekly with housekeeping and engineering managers
  • Ensure daily invoice processing
  • Ensure monthly financial documents are submitted in compliance with accounting calendar
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance through inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient with guests and staff
  • Forecast monthly financial position estimating revenues and expenses
  • Conduct management interviews and ensure compliance with hiring procedures
  • Interview final candidates for vacant management positions
  • Perform performance appraisals of executive committee members
  • Motivate coach counsel and discipline management personnel according to SOPs
  • Perform other duties as requested by senior management
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
  • Meet clients on property to assist sales efforts
  • Greet guests in public areas during peak times
  • Follow procedures for hotel safe security and monthly audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and support credit and collection policies
  • Complete required corporate training modules and become certified trainer
  • Ensure all scheduled meetings take place on property
