Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Two to three years of restaurant management experience or one year as a Benihana manager with good performance
  • Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping and report preparation
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license where applicable
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must agree to background check
  • ServSafe certified
  • Alcohol service certified preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversees and manages all areas of the restaurant and makes final decisions on guest service issues
  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints
  • Inspects dining room, food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are being adhered to
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services
  • Maintains appropriate restaurant image, including cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests
  • Plans, coordinates and approves scheduling of all restaurant departments
  • Prepares all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing, advertising, and promotional activities
  • Follows all federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
  • Ensures sanitary practices for food handling, kitchen and dining area cleanliness
  • Ensures consistent high quality of food preparation and service
  • Maintains detailed inventory records and manages ordering and forecasting
  • Controls cash and other receipts with proper procedures
  • Reviews financial information such as sales and costs and monitors budgets
  • Prepares budgets and period and quarterly end budget analysis
  • Provides direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues
  • Interviews, selects and hires hourly staff
  • Conducts new hire orientations and trains employees on company policies
  • Develops employees through feedback and performance reviews
  • Prepares schedules and ensures proper staffing
  • Leads weekly team management meetings
  • Acts as a role model and teacher to restaurant staff
