Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in financial analysis and forecasting
  • Skilled in problem solving and multitasking
  • Knowledge of hospitality operations and guest service standards
  • Experience with budget management and revenue generation
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and security protocols
  • Ability to conduct performance appraisals and staff coaching
  • Experience in executing corporate policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions according to Highgate Hotel standards
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial review meetings with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and accounting procedures
  • Develop managers for future advancement through training programs
  • Conduct daily sales meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Engage in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
  • Participate in required Manager-on-Duty coverage
  • Monitor management trainees development
  • Enforce compliance with Highgate Hotel policies and procedures
  • Assist with budget process and financial documentation
  • Ensure training on service standards and maintain guest-focused environment
  • Conduct regular room inspections with Housekeeping and Engineering
  • Oversee invoice processing and monthly reporting to Corporate Office
  • Maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance programs
  • Promote attentive, friendly, and courteous customer service
  • Forecast monthly financial position and reforecast as needed
  • Manage hiring procedures and conduct interviews for management positions
  • Perform performance appraisals and administer counseling and disciplinary actions
  • Meet clients on property and assist in sales efforts
  • Ensure safe handling and security of hotel safe
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and participate in credit and collection policies
  • Complete required corporate training and certifications
  • Ensure scheduled meetings take place on property
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President or Regional Director of Operations
