Job Requirements

  • Minimum five years experience as General Manager of a four-star/four-diamond city-center property
  • Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Progressive experience managing within a unionized labor environment
  • Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds repetitively
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Work with the Executive Committee to develop annual goals and operational objectives
  • Work with hotel department managers to establish coordinated goals and objectives
  • Coordinate operations and activities of key departments to ensure synergy and achieve financial and guest satisfaction goals
  • Evaluate guest needs, guest mix, industry and competitive trends to recommend changes
  • Develop annual hotel operating budget
  • Monitor and maintain hotel financial performance within budget
  • Responsible for profit performance of specified departments
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction and resolve guest problems or complaints
  • Develop annual capital expenditure plans
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations and Controller to achieve support service goals
  • Promote and participate in community and service projects through Loews Good Neighbor program
  • Demonstrate and promote teamwork among management and staff
  • Promote and ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Coordinate hotel security efforts with Security team
  • Direct hotel emergency evacuation activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure adherence to New Hire Training Program and Star Service Training
  • Interview, train, praise, coach, counsel, and discipline staff
  • Notify Vice President of Operations and/or Organizational Planning Committee of significant matters
  • Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and employees
  • Promote and apply teamwork skills
  • Attend hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Execute emergency procedures
  • Comply with safety regulations and hotel policies
  • Remain current on hotel information and changes
