Job Requirements

  • BS/BA is a plus
  • must be a passionate team player and a strong motivator
  • must have strong background in driving performance excellence through strong people management
  • five plus years in full P&L management responsibility preferably in hospitality, service and/or retail environments
  • experience in problem-solving, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with co-workers, clients, and the general public
  • proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and database applications
  • ability to multi-task with strong time management skills
  • ability to complete assignments and responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner, often with strict and/or conflicting deadlines
  • excellent oral presentation, writing, and analytical skills
  • strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills
  • must have exceptional strong customer service experience and skills
  • veterinary, boarding and/or grooming experience required
  • must have experience in managing inventory and accounts payable
  • must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • must frequently lift 40 pounds
  • must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift
  • must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently
  • must be able to work on computer system and work multi-line telephone
  • must be able to handle dogs on leashes
  • must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is a plus

Job Duties

  • Support the mission, vision, culture and policies of Destination Pet
  • ensure exceptional customer service through direct contact, training and complaint resolution
  • collaborate regularly with Destination Pet Support Staff including Operations, HR, Marketing, Facilities, Legal
  • ensure cohesiveness of pet care services and cross-training
  • manage staff recruitment, hiring, motivation, training, promotion, counseling, and termination
  • oversee staff scheduling and maintain budget compliance
  • manage center payroll and ensure timely approval
  • ensure compliance with federal and local labor laws
  • conduct safety training and enforce safety policies
  • prepare and deliver annual performance reviews
  • monitor and respond to pet guests' needs ensuring safety and comfort
  • resolve customer and staff complaints
  • actively manage social media accounts
  • create and implement local marketing programs
  • attend community events and partner with local businesses
  • maintain and reorder inventory
  • monitor and manage computer systems
  • address center maintenance needs
  • utilize financial reports and statistics
  • manage cash including payments and end-of-day balancing
  • ensure timely bank deposits
  • promote and market programs and services
  • assist team members as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
