Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of restaurant management experience or one year as a Benihana manager with good performance and positive results
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports
  • Knowledge of computers including MS Word and Excel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license where applicable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must agree to background check
  • ServSafe certified alcohol service certified preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversees and manages all areas of the restaurant and makes final decisions on guest service issues
  • Investigates and resolves food quality and service complaints
  • Inspects dining room, food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas to ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services
  • Maintains restaurant image including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Ensures safety practices for employees and guests with proper emergency and security procedures
  • Plans, coordinates and approves scheduling of all restaurant departments
  • Prepares all required paperwork including forms, reports and schedules on time
  • Assists in planning and executing marketing and promotional activities and communicates campaigns to staff
  • Ensures sanitary practices, compliance with operational standards and laws
  • Maintains high quality of food preparation and service
  • Manages restaurant inventories accurately and forecasts supplies
  • Verifies receipt of orders including quantities and pricing
  • Controls cash and other receipts following restaurant policies
  • Reviews sales, costs and budgets, taking action to prevent deviations
  • Prepares budgets and financial analyses
  • Adheres to standards to increase sales and minimize costs
  • Completes financial, payroll and administrative duties on time
  • Provides direction on operational issues
  • Interviews, selects and hires hourly employees
  • Conducts new hire orientations and training
  • Develops employees with feedback and performance reviews
  • Ensures restaurant is staffed appropriately
  • Administers corrective actions for policy violations
  • Leads weekly team management meetings
  • Acts as a role model and expert in all restaurant aspects
