Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior management experience in retail or convenience store environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to traverse and access all store areas
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to complete required certifications
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards and company policies
- Must be able to supervise and guide hourly employees
- Must have reliable transportation to reach store location
Job Qualifications
- 1-3 years of management experience in convenience store, retail, fast food, or restaurant operations
- Budget and P&L understanding
- Ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Must be able to provide coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to bend, stoop low, and stand for at least 8 hours
- Ability to properly lift, pull, and/or push up to 30 lbs
- Successful completion of certification testing as needed
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
- State of Maine applicants must have UST Class A/B Certification or be able to become certified within 30 days
Job Duties
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop all store staff
- Demonstrate leadership and promote teamwork
- Motivate staff to continually improve performance
- Effectively address employee relations issues
- Provide performance feedback and coaching to store employees
- Develop and execute site level operating budget
- Responsible and accountable for the steady improvement of store profitability and the delivery of budgeted financial objectives
- Maximize store sales and gasoline volume
- Monitor retail gasoline prices
- Maintain product mix and inventory levels
- Stock shelves and refrigerated coolers
- Minimize loss of cash and inventory
- Ensure compliance with all laws related to store operations
- Manage fund reconciliation and inventory audits
- Provide the best customer experience and greet every customer with a warm smile
- Promote specials and suggest purchases
- Ensure safety by training employees and enforcing policies
- Maintain the store’s safety and security
- Manage store and perimeter cleanliness and maintenance
- Operate all assigned equipment safely
- Report and investigate workplace accidents
- Conduct safety orientations and inspections
- Encourage reporting of unsafe conditions
- Promote a quick return to work for employees under supervision
