Job Requirements

  • Minimum 6-7 years experience as hotel general manager
  • renovation/project manager or hotel pre-opening experience preferred
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • Marriott brand/system experience preferred
  • ability to manage multiple departments and cross-functional teams
  • strong financial acumen and budget management skills
  • excellent communication and leadership capabilities
  • commitment to guest satisfaction and employee development

Job Qualifications

  • minimum 6-7 years experience as Hotel General Manager in competitive marketplace
  • strong background in hotel operations and profit management
  • experience in pre-opening and project management preferred
  • knowledgeable in corporate training and compliance standards
  • excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • ability to conduct financial reviews and budget forecasting
  • proficient in staff development and performance management
  • Marriott brand/system experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel scheduling
  • comply with hotel standards and regulations for safe operations
  • conduct daily business review meetings with Director of Sales
  • participate actively in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and events
  • tour operational departments daily and coordinate with department heads
  • conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions
  • hold monthly financial reviews with department managers
  • ensure departments meet budgeted productivity levels
  • develop managers through training programs
  • participate in Management on Duty coverage
  • enforce compliance with management policies
  • assist in budget processes and strategy sessions
  • oversee service standards training
  • foster a positive, guest-focused team environment
  • perform weekly room inspections with Housekeeping Manager and Engineer
  • submit financial documents timely
  • ensure property cleanliness and maintenance
  • forecast financial position and analyze projections
  • conduct management interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • enforce hiring standards across departments
  • interview candidates for management positions
  • conduct performance appraisals and ensure disciplinary compliance
  • perform duties as requested by Corporate Executives
  • ensure fair employee treatment
  • engage with clients and guests for sales and service
  • remain visible during peak times to assist guests
  • maintain hotel safe procedures and audits
  • lead monthly credit meetings
  • complete corporate training and certifications
  • coordinate scheduled meetings on property
  • perform other duties as required
