Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive hotel management experience
  • previous successful hotel management experience with leadership and guest service results
  • financial knowledge and ability to analyze financial information
  • bachelor's degree or extensive relevant experience
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • prior leadership experience with direct sales efforts producing at least 50% market mix of revenues
  • valid driver's license
  • exceptional time management and multitasking skills
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, lift, and squat for extended periods
  • willingness to travel occasionally

Job Duties

  • Lead the property in the generation of revenue through sales and marketing efforts
  • maintain strong knowledge of and relationships in the local market
  • manage relationships with hotel vendors and negotiate service agreements
  • review financial reports and statements to understand property performance versus budget and develop strategies to improve performance
  • coach and support hotel team to effectively manage occupancy, rates, wages and controllable expenses
  • manage costs within the hotel including supplies, labor, utilities, food, and beverage expenses to within budgeted parameters
  • ensure service, technical skills, and other training occurs throughout the property
  • establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with direct reports and entire team
  • establish a presence with team members on property and actively solicit team member feedback
  • hire team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity, and leadership
  • observe service behaviors of team members and provide feedback
  • review comment cards, guest survey results, and other data to identify areas of improvement
  • analyze service issues and develop creative solutions
  • interface with customers regularly to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels, and satisfaction
  • ensure building is well maintained and operational areas meet or exceed guest expectations
  • ensure policies are administered fairly and consistently and performance is evaluated and recognized
  • work to ensure property meets franchise standards and is a safe and secure facility for guests and team members
