Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field or a 4-year college degree and 4 to 5 years of related experience or a 2-year college degree and 5 to 6 years of related experience
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns from employees and guests
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
  • Maintain regular attendance as per standards

Job Duties

  • Tour the operating departments daily and make adjustments via department heads
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including training sessions and reviews of sales and operations efforts
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs timely
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
  • Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and standard accounting procedures
  • Develop managers through competency and corporate training programs
  • Coordinate with Director of Sales on daily HHBR meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls
  • Engage in hotel sales by calling on top accounts and hosting clients
  • Participate in scheduled M.O.D. coverage
  • Monitor and develop management trainees
  • Adhere to and train staff on hotel policies and compliance
  • Assist in the hotel budget process
  • Ensure service standards training and compliance
  • Foster a positive team-oriented guest-focused environment
  • Conduct regular room inspections with housekeeping and maintenance
  • Oversee invoice processing with A/P procedures
  • Submit required financial information to corporate monthly
  • Maintain cleanliness and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure employees provide attentive, friendly, courteous service
  • Forecast and analyze monthly financial positions
  • Conduct management interviews and hiring
  • Perform performance appraisals and ensure compliance
  • Motivate, coach, and discipline management staff
  • Perform duties assigned by Vice President or Regional Director
  • Ensure fair treatment of employees
  • Meet clients and assist in sales efforts
  • Engage with guests in public areas during busy times
  • Manage hotel safe procedures and audits
  • Conduct monthly credit meetings and enforce credit policies
  • Complete corporate training modules and certifications
  • Ensure scheduled meetings occur on site
