Job Requirements
- Work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- must be available to close the store at least once per week
- attend corporate meetings and conferences including overnight stays and interstate travel
- maintain valid identification for airline travel
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5+ years of fast-paced retail management or relevant work experience
- success in financial management including driving top-line sales, interpreting data, managing payroll, and controlling expenses
- proven retail management skills in inventory monitoring, operational excellence, service culture, and merchandising directives
- leadership experience in attracting, developing, and motivating talent, and leading teams through change
- proficiency in basic retail technology such as Point of Sale systems, Microsoft Office, and Apple devices
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- strong organizational skills for multitasking
- ability to use good judgment, remain flexible, and adapt under pressure
Job Duties
- Promote a culture of accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink
- drive company profitability through operational excellence, top-line sales growth, and expense control
- leverage store forecast and payroll budgets to support scheduling needs to maximize productivity, achieve sales and payroll goals, and complete workload on time and within budget
- address issues identified by financial and operational reporting, store visits, and audits to meet goals and drive profitability
- perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and guest service experience
- stay informed of industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests
- maintain prompt, regular attendance and hold associates accountable to attendance policy
- attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent and address staffing needs
- enforce policy violations with corrective actions up to separation following company procedures
- build a highly engaged and collaborative team embodying brand values through open communication
- create an inclusive environment encouraging associate growth and engagement
- lead manager and associate development including training, feedback, coaching, performance reviews, succession planning, and development plans
- ensure participation in ongoing brand and category training for continuous professional development
- model open communication by sharing enterprise strategy and creating aligned goals
- promote teamwork by working alongside management, setting priorities, and providing direction
- execute the Guest Engagement Leader program through coaching and business ownership to enhance guest experience and drive performance
- ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and dress code
- utilize scheduling and task management tools to optimize associate deployment and task prioritization
- protect company assets via workplace safety, inventory control, cash management, and loss prevention
- execute inventory control processes including theft reporting and product returns
- support continuous improvement by adopting company initiatives and technologies
- communicate business trends and operational challenges to field leadership regularly
