Job Requirements
- College degree or equivalent business management experience
- At least six years of experience managing fixed-route, fixed-schedule, unionized bus services
- Experience handling labor and union negotiations
- Knowledge of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment and compliance
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience in transit operations management
- Understanding of safety and regulatory compliance requirements
Job Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent business management experience
- Minimum six years managing fixed-route, fixed-schedule unionized bus services with at least 35 peak-period vehicles
- Experience in transit, paratransit, charter or student transportation business
- Expertise in labor and union negotiations
- Strong understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety DOT and FTA compliance
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Experience in field/shop management of transit system
- Additional duties based on individual contract requirements
Job Duties
- Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs
- Identify, select, train and mentor location staff
- Collaborate on service quality, operational data and passenger feedback
- Communicate frequently with location staff and support team
- Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and fleet availability
- Manage safety and training programs for compliance
- Maintain client contact routinely to exceed expectations
- Conduct periodic departmental audits
- Review key operational metrics daily, weekly and monthly
- Manage location financial metrics and develop action plans
- Implement and promote company policies and procedures
- Interact with bridges committee for policy improvements
- Participate in labor and employee relations activities
- Support contract renewals with insights and information
- Create and present the annual budget for the location
