  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior management experience in a fast-paced restaurant setting
  • strong leadership and team-building skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication
  • basic math and budgeting skills
  • knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • physical ability to meet job demands including lifting and standing for long periods
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ordering supplies and overseeing building maintenance, cleanliness and security
  • accountable for production of Always Fresh standards and waste levels
  • plans and works to budgets, maximizes profits and achieves sales and transaction targets
  • controls food, paper, labour costs and administers payrolls
  • recruits new team members, trains and develops employees and motivates team to achieve targets
  • builds team bench strength by identifying and developing high potential employees
  • sets goals and objectives for team
  • ensures open door policy for all team members
  • maintains ongoing communication with all shifts
  • provides open communication with General Manager and Restaurant Owner
  • ensures compliance with all applicable legislation
  • handles guest complaints and queries professionally
  • prepares reports and performance analysis documentation
  • establishes relationships with local community and undertakes corporate social responsibility activities
  • enforces security procedures to reduce theft and ensure safety
  • provides leadership around waste management procedures
  • ensures compliance with occupational health and safety legislation
  • uses or wears personal protective equipment as required
  • follows safe work practices and procedures
  • implements health and safety program
  • trains and informs team members about hazards
  • conducts regular workplace inspections
  • responds to and corrects unsafe conditions
  • reports work related injuries and illnesses
  • performs accident investigations
  • enforces employee compliance with health and safety policies
  • takes disciplinary actions for noncompliance
  • keeps Restaurant Owner informed of hazards
  • recommends improvements to health and safety practices
  • meets physical demands of the job including repeated reaching, manual dexterity, frequent standing and occasional lifting
  • handles exposure to cold and heat temperatures
