Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years' management experience
- Experience in P&L management and budget oversight of $1M+
- Proven track record in organizing and operating sports tournaments and events
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, risk management, leadership development, special events, and team building
- Experience with convention and visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions, or event booking
- Ability to travel as required
- Capacity to lift 50 pounds waist high
- Availability to work weekends, nights, and holidays
- Ability to sit for extended periods operating a computer
- Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels and exposure to heat and cold
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, sports management, marketing, hospitality, food and beverage, or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience
- Proven expertise in sports programming and sports event operations
- Demonstrated experience organizing, booking, and operating sports tournaments and events
- Operational knowledge of food and beverage, risk management, leadership development, special events, and team building
- Experience working with convention and visitor bureaus, regional sports commissions, or regional event management in sport or convention centers
- Prior responsibility for daily P&L management and budget oversight of $1M or more
Job Duties
- Analyze operations to evaluate performance and identify cost reduction or program improvement opportunities
- Appoint Director of Operations and delegate responsibilities
- Confer with ownership, advisors, and staff to resolve issues and coordinate activities
- Coordinate development and implementation of budgetary and administrative control systems
- Direct financial and budgetary activities to maximize investments and operational efficiency
- Manage human resources responsibilities
- Plan and implement organizational policies and objectives to ensure continued operations and productivity
- Execute tactical, strategic, and corrective action plans
- Prepare and present utilization, budget, and financial reports
- Represent the organization at official functions
- Serve as liaison between shareholders, organizations, and outside entities
- Oversee organizational pricing and sales responsibilities
- Negotiate and approve contracts and agreements
- Prepare annual operating budgets
- Review staff reports and recommend approvals or changes
- Schedule and supervise ongoing staff training
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Vice President of Venue Management
